Where do we even begin? So much has happened in the past couple of months and it's all so exciting that I wasn't sure what to tell you about first. But let's go with that thing you've all heard us talking about for a while... yep, the Maternity Center! We broke ground!
As you know, in November 2023 our board had finalized the cost of building a maternity & surgery center for at an amazing cost of $850,000.00. We have raised $70,259 to date and were able to break ground on August 24, 2024.
The ground breaking ceremony was well attended by some of the KMH board members, KMH employees, visiting students, and locals.
We are asking and seeking for continued donations and new donors to help us keep up the good works being done.
Here is an overhead shot of the entire KMH complex with the outline of the Maternity Center outlined in white.
Construction is now underway on the Maternity Center!
We are now able to accept dental patients thanks to Dr. Rob Harrigan DDS!
Check out this state of the art dental chair.
Here is what a couple of our recent interns had to say about their stay...

KMH IS COMMITTED TO TRAINING AND EDUCATION
Dr. Cherie Glazner, together with medical students from Rocky Vista University’s Global Health Track, prepared a curriculum aimed at training local nurses in cervical cancer screening. This educational material was integrated with Kajiado County’s existing training program to ensure the delivery of accurate information. Dr. Kimani, an oncologist from the Global Cancer Care and Research Institute, supervised the training alongside the County Ministry of Health Officer. He provided treatments for pre-cancerous or positive VIA results on-site and followed up with all patients for referrals, planning to see them again for another examination in six months.
Kilimanjaro Mission Hospital was able to assist in providing the supplies needed for the practical screenings in the communities.
